I hold a Ph.D. in Plant Biology and a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine, and I graduated as Valedictorian from Alhambra Medical University. My journey into TCM is deeply rooted in my belief in the interconnectedness of nature, the body, and the mind. After receiving specialized training in various TCM modalities in China, I have dedicated my life to sharing the transformative power of acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, nutrition, and exercise with the world.

At AWWC, I believe in a Whole Health approach, where the focus is not just on the treatment of symptoms, but on restoring balance and vitality in every aspect of life. This philosophy guides my practice and shapes the educational resources I offer. Through free online services, including herbal consultations, wellness coaching, and informative workshops, I am committed to making TCM accessible to everyone.

Whether you are seeking relief from a specific health concern or looking to incorporate TCM into your wellness routine, I am here to support you on your journey to greater health and inner peace.

Understanding the Foundations of  Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a holistic healing system that views the body, mind, and spirit as an interconnected whole. Unlike Western medicine, which often focuses on treating symptoms in isolation, TCM seeks to understand the underlying balance of energy in the body, known as Qi (pronounced “chee”).

Yin and Yang
The concept of Yin and Yang is central to TCM. It represents the dualistic nature of life, where opposite forces are interconnected and interdependent. Yin is cool, passive, and nourishing, while Yang is warm, active, and energizing. In a healthy body, these forces are in balance. Illness occurs when they are out of harmony.

Qi and Meridian System
Qi is the vital energy that flows throughout the body, nourishing the organs and maintaining overall health. TCM practitioners use the meridian system to map the flow of Qi, identifying blockages or deficiencies that may be causing physical or emotional discomfort. Acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other TCM therapies are used to restore Qi balance.

The Five Elements
At the heart of TCM lies the Five Elements theory — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. These elements are used to understand the different forces in the body and their relationship to one another. By observing how these elements interact, TCM practitioners can diagnose imbalances and recommend treatments to restore harmony.

By embracing the philosophy of TCM, we can cultivate a deep sense of self-awareness and empower our bodies to heal naturally.
